Brand Writer – 9 month period

At RichardsDee, we are die-hard advocates of and believers in the power of brand language – championing the crucial role it plays in creating strategic, distinctive, unique and memorable brands. Right now, we’re looking for a mid-weight Brand Writer to join our creative team. This will be a 9-month contract working across a range of dynamic and diverse accounts.

The role will varied, but your main task will be to work with local and international clients and their brands – demonstrating how voice and language can tell unique stories across varied touchpoints. Creating meaningful change for businesses, actions and communications.

About you

You’ll be fixated on the role and power of language in branding. You’ll be able to capture the big picture simply and craft the tiny details and nuances. Day to day, you’ll primarily be writing copy and working alongside our strategic team to create compelling brand propositions, manifestos, messaging and tone of voice guidance. You’ll also craft presentations, dream up engaging creative concepts, write scripts, digital copy, reports and proposals. You’ll be comfortable collaborating, presenting your work and leading out client presentations. You’ll work with and report into our senior team – working 3 days a week from our office on O’Connell Street and one/two day/s from home.

About your skills

  • You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’ll relish taking ownership of tone and direction for new brand identity and brand refresh programmes.
  • You’ll build trust with marketing directors and leadership teams through confident consideration in how brand language supports their business objectives and in preparing recommendations and concepts for client review and presentation.
  • You’ll get under the skin of brands, products and services – confidently articulate and craft brand positionings, messaging platforms, compelling stories and narratives.
  • You’ll be curious to understand the world and business of our clients – their strategy, competitors, customers’ world and beyond.
  • You’ll have experience developing names for brands, products and services.
  • You’ll be the guardian of written communications and be able to take, absorb and action feedback from multiple parties.
  • You’ll be keen to take part in client and market discovery activities (including stakeholder interviews, research, audits, workshops, and customer insights sessions).
  • You’ll be able to lead delivery from start to finish – project scoping and work plans, ensuring feasibility and accuracy, completing projects on time and on brief and manage a number of projects at a time.
  • You’ll deliver thought leadership and insights as to how brands use language and innovation within the field.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English / Professional writing / Editorial writing
  • 5+ years of brand writing experience
